  Published on 04 Mar 2021 15:06
With the birth of large auction sites first, such as E-Bay and then e-commerce such as Amazon or Zalando, the use of shopping online has spread a lot, even in Italy. With the pandemic, then, the online purchase of objects and accessories related to the home and furniture has spread even more, so much so that furniture giants such as Westwing, Westelm or Villeroy & Boch (we are talking about e-commerce only), are grown a lot, increasing their turnover up to 10% more than in 2019.
In other countries, such as France and Great Britain, where online commerce is now an established habit for internet surfers, growth has reached peaks of +17 and even + 30%. This has meant that many large companies are working on a corporate restructuring to favor e-commerce over retail.
Here in Italy, sites such as Alessi, Westwing (formerly Dalani), Kasanova, Tognana, Kartell and Hermess are very popular and growing rapidly.
In a short time, we will therefore see giants in the sector, such as Ikea or Maison Du Monde, abandon the idea of the large store, to move to small retail shops, in the city center, where those who have bought online, can go there. to collect what he ordered.
In the United States, in addition to the aforementioned Amazon, there are giants such as PotteryBarn, Ashley, Walmart, Wayfair, Urban Outfitters, Farmhousepottery, H&M, World Market, Burrow, Jungalow by Justina Blakeney and others who are the masters in the look, buy and receive .
